___Young ladies in the Orient are often taught to be very soft-spoken,
gentle, polite, patient and respectful. How calm it must be around people
who act like that! It must be very easy to like them and to get along well
with them! Besides, it is much easier to avoid arguments with people if
you speak gently.
___Whether you are a boy or a girl, practice being gentle, calm and loving. Practice using soft answers that help turn away anger and get softer responses, too. Practice being patient and kind. You will be much more enjoyable to be around than someone who is mean, quick-tempered or sarcastic. Practice being a person around whom others will find peace--the peace reflected by someone who loves the Lord!
Eccl 10:4 . . . calmness can lay great errors to rest.
James 1:19-20 . . . Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.
Eph 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
