___There is a popular saying that "money doesn’t grow on trees." In other words, you
can’t just go outside and pluck money "fruit" off of a tree--you usually have to work for it.

___It is honorable to earn your keep (2 Thes 3:12) and provide for your family (1 Tim
5:8). However, one can get carried away and work too hard. Some people get overly
focused on making money, spending money, collecting way more belongings than they
need or "keeping up with the Joneses" (Luke 12:15, Eccl 3:4). When that happens, they

other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve
both God and Money."
